Cayceret Ingenieurs SA, based in Blois, Pays de la Loire, France successfully constructed the infamous trebuchet (a mechanical catapult) as used by the Normans during the Norman conquest. By using modern construction methods using hydraulic mechanisms with hydraulic oils and wire rope greases, Jean-Claude Cecin, was able to demonstrate how effective the catapult mechanism was in breaking into Anglo Saxon bailey and motte constructions during the mid 9th Century. Jean Claude thanked the team at Kenson Lubricants for assisting in prescribing correct lubricants for the design.
